Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach called gastric mucosa. In the diagnosis of the disease, there are two different forms: acute gastritis and chronic gastritis.

That is the chronic form that has more impact because it is the result of the continued presence of irritants in time. It presents with symptoms such as nausea, belching, bloating, heaviness in the epigastric region, vomiting. Sometimes fever and headache are also present.
The acute form occurs after continued use of pain medication and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs - nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as aspirin. Other precipitating factors are smoking, alcohol, food abuse, the use of spices and irritants, systemic bacterial or viral infections (eg cytomegalovirus, salmonella), intense stress, trauma, burns, surgery. Once removed the cause, acute gastritis usually resolves spontaneously.
Common disease in the Western world, has a permanent chronic gastritis of the gastric mucosa and is asymptomatic and therefore more difficult to diagnose.
One of the most important risk factors for the development of gastritis is infection by a bacterium, Helicobacter pylori (Hp). But there are a number of factors, environmental and psychological factors that cause the disease: alcohol, smoking, physical and mental stress.
Chronic gastritis develops gradually and when it occurs causes a dull stomach pain, indigestion, loss of appetite, nausea, feeling full stomach after the first few bites of food.

A psychosomatic level the stomach is a container of all that is accumulated in the human body and becomes the seat of the conflict that underlies the disorder.
The human being, in fact, "eats" the atmosphere literally hovering out of it and the stomach is a difficulty in breaking in "to swallow something."
The key symptoms of the disorder represent the feelings of the patient-type.
The burning and pain stomach express the difficulty to express themselves fully, holding all the tension built up inside.

Nausea and vomiting symbolize a rejection of a given situation that no longer wants to be accepted and that "closes the stomach" (as in anorexia, another key symptom of gastritis). When the situation generates a state of alert, it means the typical voltage and gastric digestion long and elaborate sets a perfect picture of the difficulty to accept and "digest" what at that time creates discomfort or pain.
People suffering from gastritis is a very anxious forms of addiction that has derived not from a real need, but from the feeling of not being allowed to become autonomous. These people have a high threshold of patience and make a great effort to say no when it is necessary.

Arsenicum album is indicated the remedy for all diseases "burning" so it is suitable for gastritis presenting as the main symptom of burning in the epigastrium, especially after meals. The subject is intoxicated and overwhelmed, afraid of being seriously ill. Stomach pain often associated diarrhea, intense thirst and chills. All symptoms worsen at night and cold drinks.
Arsenicum needs to have everything under control, is a very anxious. Tends to sadness and nervous depression. Tachycardia has often and is very sensitive to cold. He compulsive and ritualistic behaviors that the exhausted, mentally and physically. This remedy is also used in gastritis associated with a food poisoning.

Argentum nitricum, unlike arsenicum, is a very warm person, very emotional, rushed, anxious and hypochondriac. Its main feature is a high somatization in gastrointestinal and neurological. Suffering from diarrhea, nausea, dizziness. The gastritis is characterized by burning with argentum irradiation on the left side, gnawing epigastric pain and cramps.

The type argentum suffers from severe pain and fear are often associated with anxiety and excessive worry. The problems get worse after meals, putting pressure on the stomach.

Acute and chronic gastritis is cured also Nux Vomica. The disorder presents with severe cramping and a feeling of contraction in the stomach, nausea and vomiting, especially in the morning. The subject makes a sedentary lifestyle, abuse of food and alcoholic beverages, sleeping very little and works hard. He leads a stressful life that often leads to slump. At the psychic level is very sensitive, irritable and angry.

Kalium carbonicum is indicated in chronic gastritis. The stabbing pains are worse and concentrates in the epigastrium and leaning forward and after meals.

The pain radiates in the upper right and is often accompanied by abdominal swelling. The type Kalium has a strong sense of duty, is too apprehensive and fearful. All her fears are reflected on the body and the stomach is one of its target organs. All symptoms worse with the cold.

The main symptom of gastritis presenting as a nagging feeling in the stomach is typical of Phosphorus. It is indicated when there is a ravenous hunger that improves after eating, but is always present, even during the night. The pain is sharp and burning, are concentrated in the upper abdomen. They are often accompanied by vomiting and in severe cases by vomiting bright red with blood does not coagulate. The patient has an intense desire to frozen drinks. The ingestion of hot substances worsens the symptoms.
Phosphorus has a very outgoing and creative personality. It is extremely sensitive and impressionable, it suffers from many fears (health, dark, death, future). It is very weak and has little resistance to disease.

Ignatia amara is used when the stomach is based on emotion. It is a remedy for people who are emotionally hypersensitive and emotionally.
The sorrow and pain are struggling to express themselves and are being held by generating the symptoms. As with Argentum is a strong somatization characterized by nausea, stomach with or without vomiting, feeling of lump in throat, palpitations, nervous cough, strong dyspepsia. The Ignatia is both acute gastritis linked to recent suffering (grief, separation) or chronic episodes or situations of longstanding and long-lasting.

Bismuthum gastritis and has a significantly worse after meals. The pain radiates to left shoulder blade, digestion is very slow, there is also the headache and, as in the case of phosphorus, there is a great desire for cold water but is immediately sent. The pain of this remedy is cramping and sharp, strong enough to take the patient to fainting. The food remains in a stationary point of the stomach. The patient is extremely anxious, afraid of loneliness and wants to be always in the company, especially when accusing the physical discomfort.

The patient strongly Magnesia Carbon fears abandonment, the feeling of not being recognized. Do not tolerate conflicts, is anxious, irritable. Tends to hypochondria, the physical discomfort scares him, believes he has an incurable disease. All symptoms worsen at night and with climate change. Improve air instead of walking

Many gastritis cause a very annoying condition, the swelling in the stomach. Lycopodium is useful in these cases, which also covers other symptoms such as bloating, grunting, swollen abdomen, flatulence.
On a mental level Lycopodium patient is suffering from depressive illness, is often sad, discouraged, anxious. Complains of weakness of memory and thoughts confused and slowed down. The digestion is difficult and followed by drowsiness.
The remedy has a predominantly right lateral, and all the symptoms get worse in the afternoon and after sleep and get better with movement, and after taking hot drinks.

Acute gastritis is helpful for two important measures:

Aconitum napellus: This remedy is used in gastritis caused by cold or by ingestion of cold drinks but also associated with a good fright. In these cases the pain is excruciating stomach, the abdomen is sore and sensitive to touch. On a mental level there is a strong agitation, panic and fear of death.

Bryonia: it is useful in gastritis "cold" with fever, chills, thirst unending. Frequently has the sensation of gastric pressure after meals. The patient is very irritable, wants to be alone.  and after eating certain foods (peas, cabbage, beans, bread).

For all the remedies are given the lower dilutions (5-9 CH) for the acute phase and highest (30 CH) for the chronic phase. This distinction, however, can not be rigidly applied because both forms can be acute and chronic symptoms. Dilution is not the determining the therapeutic efficacy of targeted selection but the more appropriate remedy for that specific patient.
